Bunk beds for cabins and vacation rentals
For a rental or cabin where you don't know who'll sleep in it, the highest-rated beds are Francis Lofts & Bunks' at 2,000 lbs per bunk; their Ready to Ship queen over queen ($4,995) leaves the factory in 5 business days. The lowest-priced adult option is the Stratus Classic at $799.
What matters more in a rental
- Weight margin. Guests vary. A 2,000-lb rating gives far more room than a 400-lb one. Our view, not a tested finding.
- Stairs. Older guests and anyone carrying a bag find stairs easier than a ladder. The Tahoe has them built in; Francis (Signature) and Maxtrix sell them as options.
- Queen size. Two queens sleep four adults as couples. Every bed in this table comes in queen over queen.
- Arrival time. Francis's made-to-order beds take 5 to 6 weeks to ship; the Ready to Ship model takes days. The other makers didn't state a time on the pages we read.
